Since 177 cms is a length with otherwise unspecified accuracy, I'll assume it's only given to those 3 sig. figs.
To a similar accuracy, there are 2.54 cms in 1 inch.
So 177 cms = 69.7 inches or 5.81 feet.

Note that the number of significant figures given by other responders (7 in one instance, 9 in another) is quite preposterous! They're simply due to an excessive reliance on calculators. NO RESULT can ever possess MORE significant digits than the ORIGINAL INPUTS. Everyone would do well to remember that.
Note also that some extremely ill-informed person on Wikipedia states that 1 centimetre equals:
"about 0.393700787401575 inches (1 inch is equal to 2.54 centimetres exactly)."
This is one of the most hilarious misuses of spurious "accuracy" I have ever seen. OF COURSE 1 inch is NOT equal to 2.54 centimetres exactly! WARNING: Far too many web sites quote the same MISINFORMATION. So much so that I can't now find anything better. Ancient recall suggests that it's 2.5397... cms to that accuracy, but I provide no guarantee.
