You can contact your state's bar association. They have a pro bono service. You can email or phone them tell them your situation and they will let you know if they will help you. Wasn't a law guardian appointed when you and your ex went to court for custody/visitation/support? You can call the family court and talk to someone there and they will also be able to help you.

There are actually ways around it without using a lawyer. It just takes alot longer to make things happen. Sounds like you obviously have rights to see the child, so that is really good! You need to start documenting EVERYTHING that happens whether it is a phone call concerning your child, or when the child is picked up or dropped off, if you see the child in a store. I literally mean EVERYTHING! Make sure you date and time each event also. Keep it quiet though. Don't let the other party know you are documenting things or they may get scared and you won't be able to see your child again. In the meantime go talk to social services and explain the situation. If you can't get them to listen in this manor start making anonymous calls to their office when you know something may be happening to your child. If you can get them over there enough and they catch something going on you could be awarded custody very easy. Also it wouldn't hurt while all this is going on for you to be saving as much money as possible to put towards a lawyer. A lot of lawyers will take a down payment them allow payments on the rest.

I doubt that it's leagl aid will not help men--you probably make too much money. And what I can tell you is this---do not call your State Human Services Agency----once they get involved they are hard to get out of your life.

Go ask family for money and talk to an attorney and sue her for custody--you're gonna need proof that she's unfit and that it is in your child's best interest to be with you. Good luck.

All lawyers are required to take a certain number of cases each year "Pro-bono". all you need to do is find one that is interested in your son's case and want to take it on. Lawyers don't like to do pro-bono because it is without pay so you just have to keep looking and asking if they will do the case pro-bono.
