I was in pretty much the same position as you are..I wouldn't get my periods for months at a time. We tried for over 2 years and finally we just gave up hope and quit trying. Then one day I took a test and was pregnant. I now have a 5 month old. I know it's really hard to do but quit thinking about it and stressing yourself out over it. Another thing to try is Ovulex. That's if your doctor has checked you and your partner out and everything seems to be okay. You can buy it online. Its suppose to make your period normal. I started using it and my period came the very next day. I am now pregnant again. Good Luck with everything. Baby dust to you and Happy Conceiving!

If you have not had a period in 5 month's they has too be something wrong and the doctors should be taking further test instead of saying that it's stress.
In order for you too get pregnant you need too be ovulating and by the looks of things it does not seem like you are. I am not a doctor and I am just assuming, the best thing for you too do is too get a better doctor who will take the time too see what the problem is, instead of telling you that it's stress. It is not impossible for stress too cause you too have a delay in your period however, it should only be late. This has happened too me before and my period ended up coming extremely late..
Good Luck to you and please try to do some research to find better doctors...

There are so many components that must occur in order for pregancy to result. I know that is hard to believe when you look at the teen or unwanted pregnancy rate, but it is still true.
I dealt with two years of infertility and know and understand your great desire to have a baby. I went to a couple doctors and they help as best as they can, but bottom line, they didn't want a baby like I did. So to a certain degree, I took my own initiative: I educated myself.
I read on the subject of conception. But most of all I read how my own body works to conceive. There is no real easy & fast fix to get pregnant, just like when loosing weight. Anyways back to conception. I read a great book TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR FERTILITY by Toni Weischler. It was a great book that helped me understand what was going on with my body. Through reading it and learning charting ideas, I learned that I was not ovulating. I charted for a few months and then took those charts to my doctor, showing that I would go months without periods. The doctor finally stood up and listened and took me seriously, because he could see data. He could see that I really had a problem, versus I was just a woman who wanted a baby and wasn't getting pregnant.
So my advice to you is learn, read and educate yourself. You are your best advocate. NO ONE is going to look out for you like you. There are also several places on the web to read and learn, www.fertilityfriend.com www.babymed.com
Good luck! Let me know if I can help more :)
Have a blessed day!

a lot of times an irregular period can be caused by not eating right, stress and the like, i know this would take some time, but sometimes going on the pill 4 a couple of months will regulate u and for some woman it makes them more fertile me 4 example, i missed 2 pills, and never had a period i was pregnant just like that, also try taking pre-natal vitimans now they r good 4 u and baby too, also take an ovulation test once a month and go from there

A year is actually average for most couples. Even when everything is perfect, there is only a 20% chance of conception.
Are you positive that you are not pregnant? Not gaining an unusual amount of weight or anything? Perhaps you are underweight?
I'd ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist.
When it comes time to try for a baby again, try charting (see sources!)...
