how to kill "It" on resident evil 4?

Try not to waste your ammo in the container area.Find the switchs asap.When you get to the otherside it will be a case of shoot and run,shoot and run etc.I think there is some barrels that can be blowin up.Its been a while since ive played it buddy.

This boss battle can be a pain--not only are you fighting one terrifically ugly dude, but you've got a hostile environment to navigate, too. Here's how I did it:

To beat It, you have to go through the hanging chain-thing--whatever you want to call it, it is divided into three chambers. The idea is to detach each chamber as you pass through in an effort to trap and kill It. To do so, you need to hit two Red swtiches to open the door to the next chamber and release the chamber you're currently in. You'll see a 30 second timer appear when you've tripped both switches. To hamper things, the Red swtiches are somtimes blocked by a shutter, which you'll need to release by shooting the green light nearby. Shoot the Green light, open the shutter (door), trip both Red switches, run to the chamber door; repeat two more times.

All the time, you've got It breating down your neck. It will sometimes appear from above you and grap you by the neck; other times it will jump down and chase you around on the chamber. The good news is that many of its attacks you can avoid by hitting the button command as it appears on-screen; others you'll have to shake off (like when he grabs you from above). The only way to get It to leave you alone for a few seconds is to hurt it enough to make it jump away. To do this quickly, use either your Shotgun or something that puts alot of hurt in a quick package. If you have the Magnum, it's probably alot stronger than the Shotgun but less ammo--save it! You're going to need it!

So, navigate the chambers while shooting It and generally speaking, staying alive. You'll find ammo and grenades (which work wonders on It) as you go along, but remember to shoot It when you can--the damage you inflict on it now adds up and makes the last battle that much easier.

Once you reach the third chamber, you'll have to jump out and climb to safety; just follow the prompts on screen. Not to spoil it for you, but It doesn't die when the last chamber falls, which you're going to have to kill It the hard way. Remember your Magnum? Make sure It doesn't ever forget your Magnum by unloading everything you've got. Remember that head shots still work (if your aim is good enough) and don't be afraid to shoot, run, re-position, and shoot some more.

If you are in the unenviable position of having too few Magnum rounds, you'll need to use the terrain (which is much friendlier to you) to your advantage. Note the tunnel near the cliff--duck inside there and lure It behind you, then flip the levers to trap It inside. It will eventually break out, but in the meantime you can shoot the red barrels for grenade-like damage or use your own grenades. The only thing to really worry about is that It can burrow into the ground and pop out underneath you--just keep moving until It appears and punish it with your strongest weapon.

Keep this up and keep your health up and you should do fine. Don't worry if it takes a couple of tries--it took me a couple tries to kick Its ugly carcass, too. If you do need more help, try gamewinners.com or gamefaqs.com or email me. Good luck!

when you find the BUTTERFLY save all the ammo for it (use it on krauser if you must, but he is easily beaten with 16 slashes of the knife.) and shoot it until it starts to burrow under ground.. when that happens just dodge and using ur hand gun lure IT to the red tanks and explode 2 of them and IT shuld die, if it doesnt run behind IT and slah at It with your knife, MOVE EVERY TWO SLASHES OR HE'LL GUIT U
