Ok well i didnt need 2 ask my dad for this i have a good enough knowledge of the game of the 70-80's as it is anyway.
As a Man Utd and Nottingham Forest fan, i'll select a gr8 scottish player from each.
Dennis Law (Man Utd) was a genius so much so he was nicknamed 'The King' at Old Trafford. He was a gr8 player for Man Utd scored 236 goals in 409 games which is incredible and was part of that front 3 that included Besty and Bobby Charlton.
I've only seen clips and the odd matches of him on espn classic and old videos but he was a gr8 player.
For Forest it's gotta be John McGovern, who was one of Brian Cloughs fave players. The first and last Forest captain to lift the European Cup, a good midfielder he was, he was made captain for whatever side he played for. Of course he didn't have the grace and finesse of a Kenny Dalglish 'type' player, but if you ask his prescene was just as important.

I am a Liverpool fan and we have had a fear share but no complaints. They are all my favourite
1. Billy liddle
2. Kenny dalgilsh
3. Greame Souness
4. Ron Yeats
5. Ian St. John
6. Alan Hansen
7. Bill Shankly
8. Matt Busby
9. Tommy Lawrence
10. Steve Nicol
I have always said Liverpool always do well when there is jock in the team and list just sums up the dominance of Liverpool. Also did you know that shankly discovered LAW but because he was best pals with busby he said "here you have him".

Denis Law of Manchester United, a truly great player, and i can even forgive him for that infamous goal that sent us down all those years ago. United have had some wonderful Scottish players in their great history. Excellent question by the way.
