If you are found not guilty there is no longer a bail. you are released.

Yes, most times people will pay a bail before there trial even begins, so they can be free during the trial in case they are convicted. If your buddy beat his trial then he should be able to come home with no problem, that is if they were no on parole or probation. If that is the case then they may have a little more time to do before they are released and will problably have to pay a small court fee.

Bail is a bond held by the court as a security agains the accused absconding, or running away. Once you have been found not guilty, as you are no longer accused of a crime you are free to come and go as you please. The court no longer requires a security against your running away, and you can leave without paying any bail.

Yes, of course.

They leave the court a free man (or woman), assuming of course they are not guilty of another offence or on remand awaiting trial or a verdict on another matter.

I have happily never been in a position to know personally, but I believe that prisoners who may be freed take their possessions to court for the trial: they do not go back to prison. If it's a serious case you sometimes see them standing outside the court afterwards whilst a solicitor makes a statement to the TV cameras on their behalf.

yes they do. however they don't get released directly from court. you have to be processed out. and that can take all day. which means you get transported back to the jail.....get taken back to the tank, your belongings get searched through, you sit in another tank, they let you change in front of everyone, and you sit in another tank......feed you a funny looking sack they call a meal.....threaten to make you stay longer if you say one word.....and then let you out.
