I think it was the CRX maybe? And was it fuel injected or carb? Renault also made a car - that is no longer available - that got incredible mileage as well. Funny how the new "economy cars" get less mileage now than they could 20 years ago.

The Honda CRX HF got about 40mpg, but it was like driving a car powered by a rubber band. North Americans have expected performance from their vehicles and in return they have paid for it at the gas pump. Gas prices have dictated what we drive and how we drive.

20 years ago the cars were crap and you are dreaming with 50 mpg.

early 80's was honda cvcc. crx HF model came out mid 80's with high gas mileages.
