Lil Sister in the lord,I grew up in christian home myself. And we were taught that wearing makeup was worldly! This meaning that those that wore it did so More boys would look @ them More then those that Didnt! without realizing it or maybe admitting to yourself honestly WHY you Are wanting to do this! It,s not like ya had a defect you were trying to hide it.I understand you were at a sleepover & now she's not wanting to let you do that again.(for now i,m sure)#1 Honor your parents even though you dont truly understand All that they do."They love you more then anyone" and want the very best for you!this ncludes the possibility of eternal life once we leave this world, the world is a wicked .Nothing like GOD intended.& It,s not easy to be parents.kids are swayed to believe their parents are just trying to control their kids.'Not True' they want to teach you what GOD expects from His Children. To obey him & his word .It,s hard to understand at your age&It,s not easy to understand it all when your a grown-up But hang in there.I know your beautiful outside&inside.what you dont understand now you will know later.Be obeidient.Always talk with your mom let her know what you Dont understand (even BIBLE scriptures)See if she will explain in a way you understand.Dont make it sound like YOUR QUESTIONING HER THOUGH In Bk of 1Tim-it talks 'bout obeying, things contrary, to GOD wanting us to listen/be faithful/worthy/not doubting.dont be /busybody.
In endtimes many will fall into many foolish snares/hurtful lust etc. Please read these again with mom ask her to explain in everyday words..you might understand beter[1Tim2:21-26 //1Tim3:1-4,12,13//4:3-5] and others she may point out that will help both of you
you,ve heard of all the yg,girls/boys being kidnapped/killed?How some kids are exposed to awful stuff sexually?well mom is trying to protect you !Honey take it from me (i do care)pre-teen years are hard for kids/parents,So Many Things are happening that we can,t do anything about(it,s all been foretold for manymany years, then theres a battle between >people<& differant faiths. All say theres is the only way(king james 4 me))All have the same judge/jury we do.And i believe judgenot lest ye be judged.I,ll pray for you and your situation, maybe by the time you do become a TEEN as you are 11/12 now maybe by then you and your mom will do some bible study together and you,ll have more then one serious mother/daughter talk.and then maybe she,ll let you use the clear masscara, maybe a pale or neutral eyeshadow even a peachy/rose/tawny blush can be used on face, eyes, cheeks this would be mild and maybe used for occassional ,natural, even type, glow that "won,t stand out".GOD BLESS you &yours today and always

Wow, I agree with your Mother about you wearing makeup at your age. You are to young. I don't agree with your Mother spanking you at your age. That is a bit much. I think she could of handled this situation better. Throwing the bible at you and telling you to read is a bit much too. If your such a "Christian" girl why are you on the computer and having sleep overs? I think these would be bigger issues than putting on makeup for fun. I am Catholic and go to Church every weekend and I don't know that there is anything in the bible about wearing makeup......but putting makeup on should be something you do lightly to enhance your natural features.....At you're age wearing a lot of makeup to school, to the mall or whatever is only going to make you look like a tramp.

Sweety, I'm a christian too Okay! and there is nothing wrong with wearing a little make-up. I know what the bible says and God did not say Thou shall not wear make-up. It's when a woman wears sleazy clothing or mens clothing or too much make-up, anything that wear hide a woman or a girl's natural beauty that God has given her. The thing is that you're not a woman yet, not even a teenager. You're just a pre-teen, so you are too young. Don't try to grow up too fast. I didn't start wearing make-up until I was 15. I would just wear lipsmackers lip balm and pink nail polish. Your mother just don't want older guys checking you out, thinking you are older and they can get with you. With too much make-up young girls can start looking like young women, and your mother is looking out for your safety. Time goes by fast! as soon as you know it you will be 15 or 16, then you can wear your make-up! You are too beautiful to try to hide yourself. Right now just be yourself keep your pretty face washed and moisturized and wear
lipgloss if your mom let's you or wear lip smackers lipbalm and when you get to highschool things should change as far as make-up. Goodluck!

I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until the 7th grade, and now, in the 9th grade, I think even the 7th grade is a bit too young.
Wait until you are in the 8th grade, you are too young to wear make up in the 6th grade.
However, I think your mom overreacted with you experimenting with makeup while you were at a sleepover, when I was younger I used to try on my mothers makeup, but was never allowed to wear it in public. It sounded just like you were just trying to have some fun and meant no harm by it.

I don't think your mother is being unfair. The bible also says there is a season for everything and your season for wearing makeup is several years away. I know that you are getting older and you feel impatient to want to grow up. We have all been through that, but while it's wonderful being grown up youngsters often over-romanticize it. Don't be in a hurry. Enjoy your girlhood while you still can. Makeup is for attracting guys. That's why teenagers and women wear it, and if you're not ready to deal with everything that comes out of male attention like dating, marriage and sex, then I'm sorry sweetie, but you're not ready for makeup.

No, the Bible doesn't say that you can't wear makeup but it does have a verse about being modest and you are way too young to be wearing makeup. How old are you...12? Enjoy your childhood and stop trying to grow up so fast.

I have studied the Bible inside and out. It does not say anything about not wearing makeup. In fact, Moses probably wore makeup himself because he was raised by Egyptians. It's something Egyptians used to do to protect themselves from the sun. Mary and Joseph probably wore it to fit in when they were in Egypt, fleeing from Herod.
The purpose of makeup is to improve your complexion, bring out the facial features you like most, and downplay the facial features you dislike. At this point, makeup is your mother's call. She decides when you are allowed to put it on. When you're 18, you can do whatever you want.
Not seeing the entire situation or hearing both sides, I can't say whether your mother overreacted or not. At least she cares enough to discipline you.

Umm... I don't think it says anywhere in the Bible that you cannot wear makeup. If it is your mom's rule though then you should listen to her. But I know tons of Christians that wear makeup. Most of my friends do. Just wait. Maybe in a few years your mom will change her mind.
