You can, but alot of the new graphics card manufacturers have dropped support for windows 98. When you're shopping for cards you will first need to figure out what type of slot the video card inserts in to (probably AGP?). This can usually be found by opening up dxdiag. (start -> run -> type dxdiag press enter and click on display tab). Write down everything you see in this tab and take it to a local computer store and they should be a able to help you upgrade with a compatible video card.

Good Luck.

It means that the graphics card which inbuilt in your system or added on does not support the pixel rendering for the game. In plain it is out of juice to play that game. All you can do now look into your motherboard whether there is a brown coloured slot, which is a AGP slot and if possible go through the motherboard whether it is a 4x or 8x slot. If it is there then you can add on a Accelerated Graphics Port card (4x/8x) to play that downloaded game. I think it is time for you to upgrade your system if are on to games because nowadays AGP will be swept soon the new graphics cards are of PCI Express interfaces.

Yes you can, but Microsoft doesn't even support Win 98, or 2000 any longer. May be cheaper to upgrade to a new CPU, (recommend Dell) the speed, storage, graphics, etc. are far superior to W98

good luck
