There are 2 civilian airports in Taipei- Taoyuan (Chiang Kai-Shek) International Airport and Sungshan Airport. Sungshan within Taipei proper serves domestic routes, while Taoyuan, located >1hour west of Taipei in the neighbouring prefecture of Taoyuan serves international routes.

For domestic flights, there is the Sungshan Airport in Taipei. For international flights, the Tao-Yuan international airport (formerly called CKS airport) is south of Taipei.
Overseas travellers going to destinations in central and northern Taiwan will want to use the Tao-Yuan international airport, and its airport code is TPE.

And as for International Traveller, you need to go to Tao-Yuan International airport, used to call CKS airport. (airport code is TPE)

There are many airports for domestic airlines including Song-Sung(in Taipei), Taichung, Chia-Yi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Ping-Dong, Tai-Dong, and Hwa-Lien. For international airlines, there are only two, Tao-Yuan and Kaohsiung.
