it says it was updated but then it comes up agin and says there is a update to install.what is this and what do i do to fix it

For things like this, I generally do a web search for the exact name of the file. I use google most often, but if there's an extension or something, I include that. From there, I can usually tell if its a legitimate file or legitmate problem and see other people's struggles and resolutions. This has worked very well for me so far. Good luck!

dont see a need to have it updated or check for updates every minute as microsoft releases pacthes on a monthly time scale and occassionally more often.
second tuesday of each month is reffered to as patch tuesday.
may want to goto microsoft update page and try that way to get the patches you are missing
