You can clear out the cache on your workstation, depending on your web browser, there should be an "Internet Options" screen that will allow you to delete any cached pages and history.

Unfortunately (for you), most employers use Firewalls and proxies to protect their networks. These will also have a record of your activities which you WON'T be able to delete (unless you are a hacker, in which case, you would've known about the caches).

Most likely, the Firewall records are what they would use to punish you (since this is the record that you would not have been able to modify).

Clearing history does not do it. There are several other ways that information is stored. Why do you think police take computers and software away? There are several ways they can get the information and even recover information you think you have deleted.

But what could be worse. You get found to have done some risky surfing - is that a dismissal offence or might you just get a telling off, or demotion? To go into areas on the computer and to delete information in the areas needed to hide your activity would almost certainly be seen as an instant dismissal offence!!!

Your network also records your surfing history. You can remove your history from you desktop, but more than likely they already have a log of your internet surfing through the firewall and server logs.

Surfing where you shouldn't?

You brought it upon yourself.
