Does anyone know if a pregnancy test would be effective right after insemination?

No. It can take 3-7 days for the egg to fertilize and implant. HCG does not show up in the blood or urine until after this occurs. If you are using an over the counter urine pregnancy test you will not get results until at least 10 days past ovulation which is when I am assuming you did the insemination. First Response worked best for me. If you still get a negative result it may be too early. I would continue to check every two days until your period comes. If it does not show I would test for a week. If you still get a negative result and no period I would see a physican.

You can use a pregnancy test, but it wont show up if you are pregnant. I would leave it a week or two before you use the test. Pregnancy tests can show a pregnancy as early as 1 week.

No it would not because the pregnancy test measures the levels of a certain hormone released when the egg is fertilized and "life begins".

i don't think it would work. your hormones need to go up first so your test would work
