I love the fantasy genre and am looking for a game, that I can really get into and spend hours playing.
Something free roaming along the lines of Fighting Fantasy / Dungeons & Dragons.
Something really easy to pick up.

try elder scrolls 3 morrowind, they are bringing out elder scrolls 4 oblivion soon, they are huge games and you can go anywhere and do anything at any time and each person or creature you meet will act differently depending on who you choose to be, you can be a barbarian, sorceror or even a vampire, plus many other options.

You can easily get Elderscrolls 3 Game of the Year Edition. It's easy to learn, you create your own character, and the world is HUGE. Plus there's lots of stuff online to update the looks of the world and the characters. I'm somewhat of a newbie to free roaming games myself, but this was a good stepping stone for me.

The current crop of decent ones is limited to Elder Scrolls and Gothic games.

Heres a good online RPG game. Its a multiplayer game too.
Its called Zeus' Legacy.
Free,fun,worthwhile,and non-download.

If you are looking to play online, check out Guild Wars. It was pretty decent. I was all about Star Wars Galaxies before they nerfed the whole game.

Get The Elder Scrolls VI: Oblivion. It is one of the best RPG's ever.
