Pain varies from person to person. I promise you will feel something but it shouldn't be unbearable. If you are giving birth, I'm sure you can handle a piercing :-D I dont know what you've gone through to know what to compare it too.

As someone with 26 piercings and who does them regularly on others, you'll be fine if you just relax. You'll probably want to do the navel first in my opinion.

Generally, with piercings you will feel a sting, but after is when most pain is experienced. The are will be swollen and sore, so adjusting to that and waiting for the pain to subside will be tough and uncomfortable from time to time.

For the tongue, swelling and difficulty eating will be present 2-10 days after getting the piercing. Once swelling goes down, you will want to get a better fitting barbell which will help a lot. Tongues don't really fully heal because the tongue regenerates cell quickly and it can close within a day, however, 6ish months is usually when you can take out the jewelry for a few hours here and there and not have many problems.

With the navel, laying on your stomach, wearing tight clothing and slouching is not wise, it can cause pain and problems healing. Navel piercings take anywhere from 6 months to a year to fully heal and you will have to be very careful with the piercing, especially since its highly prone to rejection and infections.

With both piercings, you will want to keep them very clean and take good care of them to insure proper healing and minimal problems.

Belly button hurts more than the tongue. The worse part of the tongue piercing is the clamp that they use to hold your tongue out. Your tongue is two muscles and the needle goes in between...not terribly painful. Takes about a week for the swelling to go down..hard to talk, no kissing or oral s*x for a couple weeks. Your tongue is a mucous membrane so it heals VERY quickly.
Belly button hurts a little. Someone is shoving a needle through your skin...can't feel good. I had my belly button pierced twice...second time through the scar tissue..i almost passed out.
You shouldn't get anyhting pierced while you are pregnant though. If you have an allergic reaction or the needle isn't clean...not good.

A lot of people on this say bad stuff about piercings, but I have my tongue pierced and never experienced any pain with it during the piercing and after so would recommend it! With the belly a lot of people say it stings a bit but if you want it enough then surely it will be nothing!

My honey had his tongue pierced, he said it really didn't hurt. I had my belly button pierced, Its similair to your ear. My friend had her nose done, she said it hurt like heck. She also said her evebrow hurt like the ear. I think piercing is cool in moderation. A couple things cool, alot so not cool.

I had mine pierced years in the past or perhaps if it did not quite harm it change into an abnormal sensation. They mark the tongue, as to the position to pierce it at. Then they are going to clamp it with a pair of hemostats. they are going to inform you to take a deep breath in and to exhale and once you exhale they push the great hollowed out piercing needle with the help of your tongue. I were given quite warmth later on and style of went into marvel, I walked outdoors the save to get some sparkling air and puked. I puked purely once and after I did I felt completely superb. The therapeutic procedure is what hurts once you get your tongue pierced. it is going to swell up, as i'm effective you understand. it's going to be quite puzzling to eat till the swelling is going down and also you need to be avid about holding it sparkling. you do not opt for YOUR TONGUE TO change into contaminated!!! Rinse your mouth out with Listerine in many situations!! once you eat, drink (something as well water), or smoke (in case you do). Your tongue is the fastest part of your body to heal. absolutely something interior your mouth, heals speedier than something else. you need to be feeling the swelling occurring in some days later on and with the aid of the time per week passes you need to be quite reliable and healed. the shy away to having your tongue pierced is that it's going to harm YOUR the teeth. you may want to also be conscious that the proper and bottom balls on the barbell will worsen the roof of your mouth and lower than your tongue. I had mine for about 3 years and then all of it of unexpected all started quite stressful the roof of my mouth and lower than my tongue, so undesirable that i eventually purely took it out. reliable luck :)

I worked at a rehab hospital, and one of the patients was a young girl who had her tongue pierced. Well, it became infected, and she ended up having 1/2 of her tongue AMPUTATED! I am sorry, but there is no way I would ever advocate having your tongue pierced. That poor girl went from cute and kind of cool to a lifelong disability-she had to relearn everything, and her speech will never be normal. Please reconsider that piercing!!!!!

i got my tougue done and it does not hurt to get it done. the next three days it will hurt a little and u have to change your eating habbits for a week or so, but all and all they are fine. the belly button i have heard that it hurt more then the tounue and i know it gets infected easily.. but you dont have to change ur diet. i would say getting my toungue done felt like....someone pushing a needle through my toungue but no pain... :D
