I may have to retire my minivan. Most are not looking to make them anymore. I love the look of SUV's but love the convience of them walking through the first two captains chairs for easy access to the back which I have with a minivan. When you car pool kids to school having to flip up a seat just adds difficulties. Anyone have any new SUV they love with 7 passenger seating that has easy access to the back?

I prefer a GM product.

I would advise the Chevy Trailblaxer EXT and it's GM twins.

I owned one before it was stolen. Very easy to get into. My 6'5" nephew was extremely comfortable in the 3rd row during a 3 hour ride. Not the best on gas mileage, but great as a utility.

The Tahoe is good too, but with it's taller stance, much more difficult to get into and the 3rd row isn't as comfortable. Both vehicles will require seat flipping. You're not going to get away from that no matter what SUV you buy.

There's always sticking with the minivans or move to a full sized van. A full sized van will give you the best of both worlds in seating, but will get terrible gas mileage in comparison..

None of them are worth a sh*t getting into the thrid row. If you need 3 row seating and want respectable access, stick with the minivan. On top of access issues, the big SUVs use twice as much fuel as the minivans and are much more prone to rollover.

Kelly, go to a local dealership. With Chevy or GMC you can get a Tahoe or a Yukon they are not bad. I don't assume that you want a fullsize van though. Of course there are other vehicles that are termed "crossover" vehicles. They are a mix of SUV and mini van. I personally don't care much for them and as a grown man at 6'2" it is not easy for me to get into the rear section but it may be different for kids. Of course it goes without saying that your best bet would be to visit a dealership or two and see what works for your needs. Can't beat that 5/100,000 warranty on the drivetrain.
