Don't they realize just how ridiculous and tacky they look?

I read somewhere that that whole style was influenced by prison culture-- prisoners aren't allowed to wear belts (in case they try to kill themselves or choke someone else) and so their pants sag down. A lot of today's youth either identify with that gangster/prison culture, or think it looks cool and they emulate that.
Also, some guys are just too lazy to wear belts or wear clothes that fit them well-- or maybe they just think it looks sexy!

I don't do it but it is a fashion statement. Who are we to judge? I don't like it being a school teacher because it is very unflattering. Anyhow, it is the fade, fashion and people wanting to be original do whatever everyone else is doing! Some people love it and it does not really hurt anyone. Think about it! Calving Klein, Phat Pharm, Mossimo, etc.. designed underwear with waist labels so that people could so show off their undies.
That is kinda funny!

I think it's because they just don't care how they look. And they proven they don't care what others think of them. Guys who do this just want some attention. But it's the wrong kind of attention. I refuse to bother with these type of people. Any REAL man has more smarts on how to dress and that does NOT include dressing like a jerk like that.

They might realize it, but they just don't care. They just do that hoping for a chance that someone will step on the ends and pull them down more thatn they already are to draw attention to themselves. The jerk beside me claims that it is because it is PIMP.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT . SOME OF MY SONS WENT THROUGH THIS EVEN WEARING A BELT THAT WAS UNDER THEIR BUTTS . I USE TO LAUGH AT THEM I SAID IF YOU HAD TO RUN YOU WOULD FALL ON YOUR FACE . WHEN THEY WALKED THEY HAD TO THROW THEIR FEET OUT TO KEEP THEM ON AND I ALSO WONDER WHY THEY THINK EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE THEIR UNDER WEAR . I have no clue why they do it. It drives me nuts, I want to walk up to them and tell them "you're pants are falling down, pull them up!" or I just want to pants them.
I also hat when they wear their hats crooked!

they are too lazy to pull them up lol. they think it looks cool-for watever reason-but why would it be cool to expose your underwear? they need to get a belt and keep them up

I don't and your right it looks stupid. Guys don't have to buy jeans that big for them to fit loose.
To me that style looks just as dumb as the straight leg everyone needs to see my croch/I have to inhale to get a dollar out of my pocket fit.
