Do they feel secure?. What have they got that makes them different from us?. Why are they regarded as outcasts even though they are normal human beings like us?

I can't answer as to if they feel insecure or not. But everyday is a day of survival for them in looking for food and know where to find food. Many choose to live that way, but on the same token some are forced to live that way. Some people I know can move just about anywhere and land a job and quit and get several jobs in a year, I have never been that lucky myself, it always took a while even with a degree, and there's some people that tries and tries over and over again and just can't get anywhere. Thats just the way life is. Ever wonder why in the work field that the one who constintly works hard and has perfect attendance gets told about the things he done wrong compared to the person that calls in all the time isn't told anything? As for the homeless...let me give you a little feel of how hard it would be to get yourself out of being homeless. Take away any ID you may have, you have no phone, you have no SS card, no birth certificate and you have no address. Try to get a job without those things...a person can't. Try to get a SS card is harder then most people think and you have to prove yourself to get one. On top of it all, if a homeless person had $5 why should he get a card anyways when he could be buying a meal someplace, plus they wouldn't have any address to send the card to if he did get one...it is a continous cycle of stress. They are regarded as outcast because they don't live up to our standards of how normal people should live, like having a job, car, phone, social groups...etc. One thing that I have seen about the homeless, is that they are more giving and caring then the rich. A homeless person will share their sandwich it you needed something to eat, if you need a place to stay they will take you in and they will help you if your lost, they will also give you a coat if they have one to keep you warm....try getting those things from someone living in a mansion thats if you can get past the front gate and if you came most likely the cops will be there.

The first mistake is to refer to them as normal as most of them have some kind of diagnosable mental disorder. Did you see the Oprah show last week? There's a documentary coming out call "Reversal of Fortune" with Showtime. They gave a guy who passed a drug and alcohol screening and a mental evaluation 100K to see if throwing money at a problem would help. It did not. He thought people used him and that he may have a problem with authority. He was offered a financial advisor, a job coach and a therapist and he still p*ssed it all away. People who try are the people that could have made that 100K work for them. It's a sad convoluted situation and I really do feel badly for the people that want help and get lost in the cracks of the con men who present the face of homelessness on the corners.

They probably feel really lonely and sad. Most, however, want it that way. I saw a TV special about homeless and how in the cold weather shelters are expanding their space to bring the homeless out of the cold. Many blatantly refused the assistance. Most have mental disorders, however, many have hit a hard spot in life and need assistance. I've volunteered at many shelters over the last 10 years and I think they are normal people who need guidance and another chance.

I've never been in that position, but I can speculate.
I would suspect it to be very lonely and sad.
Although, some have been in that position longer than not and it probably has become their normal. How sad is that?
No one feels safe in the "unknown." How can you feel safe, not knowing where you are going to sleep, eat, shower, etc...
Also, most would think someone an outcast when it's not in what they consider to be the "norm."

Evidently they don't give a SH1T, or they wouldn't be homeless!
I've been homeless, because I screwed up over drugs and
booze. But not for long!
The only people who I think need our sympathy, are the
mental people. They get ****** over big time by people who
are supposed to help.
Seen it with my own eyes!

scary. because they are pretty vulnerable and defenseless.
Their stuff could be stolen at any time - they have noplace to lock it up. You can have very few possessions because there's no 'safe' place to leave them. Many have significant mental and physical problems. Such as addiction and mental illness.
