I often do this, I dream of places unreal, and people I have never seen or heard of before. And I have wondered why I do this for sometime now. Can someone please give me a serious answer??

Because real people are a huge let down!

I think most people do this and the Internet is the perfect place to do it...

They already have websites that allow people to create Sims type characters and invent worlds and even have there own currency. It is said that soon people will actually live and work and make real money in such virtual environments and everyone will succumb eventually to cyber relationships of all kinds.

I believe it. People are generally anticlimactic and a huge bore. Predictable and easy to figure out... Cyber people are your equal because you create them!

I'm all for it! That... and robots in fast food restaurants! People just suck! They are deceptive devious selfish and perverse in more ways than not!

I hope that my answer will be as serious as you are trying to be. Fantasy is a good thing, unless you use it as a tool to escape your reality.

You can use your gift of fantasy to realize/actualize it in this world by creating them artistically through whatever means.

But initially, you have to first know the true reasons behind your dream world creation, and what is the fear that you're trying to avoid facing by dreaming?

Sometimes a tangible fear does not exist, it's just a fear of the unknown. In this case, you overcome it by trying not to think about the future or past, but just on what you're doing at the present moment.

Someone asked the Buddha, what do you do with your students? He said, we walk, we talk, we eat. But all people do that, he replied.

The Buddha then answered, when we eat, we know we eat, when we talk, we know we're talking, when we walk, we know we're walking.

Awareness is all about that.

That depends on what school of thought you come from. Some people (eg Freud) believe that dreams are an unconscious expression of our waking desires. In other words, you dream about what's going on in your life at the moment. Other people believe there are other worlds that exist outside of ours and that we (or at least our souls) can visit these during our sleep.

Freud would say that we express in our dreams what we cant express in real life as it's not socially acceptable to do so.

I personally believe a bit of both, but I do strongly believe we can travel to other worlds in our sleep. I've read about a group of people who prayed to be sent where their help was needed during their dreams and they all reported being in Iraq.
