I'm trying to create Roman armor for a play. Is there a way I can use interfacing or some other stiffening matter to strengthen pleather? I want to create leather armbands and lorica segmentata our of leather and I'm trying to find the most cost effective alternatives.

I doubt if interfacing would give the pleather the extra sturdiness you are looking for. Also pleather should not be ironed so you can't use iron on interfacing. Maybe try using multiple layers of the pleather.
