for how he reacted during one of his stand up comedies. Why is what he said so racists but I've heard the same thing come out of black comedians mouths, or just because he was a white guy calling a black man a ***.ger, he was at the wrong but a black guy calling a white man a honkey is just fine. I'm sure his rant helped Black leaders get support for their causes.

I agree with the poster that noted that we have to have someone to be mad at, Black comedians use the words in their routine, but Micheal Richards was not using the word in his routine he used that word with HATE behind it, I am glad that is happened so now he confronted with how he really feels about blacks. I know whites are tired of hearing blacks cry racism or discrimination on alot of occassions, but keep in mind that we have been discriminated against more time than you hear about and I think that once white america accepts that, we can have open and honest dialouge about race relations in America. The word is not going anywhere, yeah few people can stop using the word but there are more people out there that won't.

Instead making sweeping generalizations of each race, make some white friends, black friends, hispanic friends, etc and have an open, honest conversations about urban legends you have heard about their race and get some understanding. All black people are not always late and we don't sit around and eat fried chicken and greens. All white people do not hate black people and think that blacks are beneath them, All hispanic people don't have a whole bunch of kids and are undeducated, and All Asian people are not brain surgeons, etc, I can go all day with all the misconceptions, but I won't. Let just live our lives as best we can and try to understand before your judge.

Well, I think the real problem is that his words were out of anger. Celebrities are suppose to hold this image of always being calm and content with life. Whenever they show anger, people gasp at their behavior. Um, don't we all get angry? Also, I suppose people don't take white racial slurs as seriously because whites are still seen as supreme in a lot of people's eyes. I don't agree with that, but some people still think that way. I don't think anyone should use racial slurs towards anyone of any racial group.

Apparently it's ok for black people to call each other that. And since the white man has "held them down" for so long, it's ok for them to lob racial slurs our way. Can't we all agree to just hate the arabs? Or is it that people are so overly sensitive that anything they deem offensive is bad? When did the freedom of speech get repealed? It must have been in with the Patriot Act....

he was wrong for calling black men N******s the same way its wrong for a black person to call a white person a honkey. Racial insults arent okay no matter who's using them. He got mad and called them a bad word. It was unexcuseable but sometimes it happens. But he didnt stop there, he kept going. We all let things slip out when we're angry but when we go on racial rampages like he did, it doesnt seem like an accidental slip anymore.

First of all the Nword, as everyone euphemistically refers to it, was NOT a word coined by racists, but a word mispronounced by people who couldn't speak Spanish. ***** is the Spanish word for black. Should we try to eliminate the word ***** from the Spanish language?

He went overboard and lost control because of some hecklers who happened to be black and he used the wrong words cause they just popped out in his rage.

The "N word" Was originated by racist whites who killed black people and hung them from trees. "Honky" is something black people started because of the way white men talk. I don't think it really compares. Michael Richards should have known better. It was insulting and stupid and it makes white peolpe look like @ssholes. Whether or not it helped anyone gain support of their causes.

Exactly, a black comedian says that word and he is funny, Richards says it and the world stops. Something for people to jump on the prtest bandwagon about.

michael richards was right in my mind. theres a diff between a black man and a ****er and those guys were ****ers. they were doing what ****ers always do- being loud and anoying and feeling they can talk and shout things during his comedy routine and michael wasnt having it. and good for him. and now those guys r proving that they r ****ers by going all over the news and of course in typical ****er fashion looking for MONEY. yet again anotehr ****er looking for money with out doing any work.
