It is a route to supremacy, power, money and fame for many. there are very few parties and their followers who stand for an ideology. now gaining power has become the only goal, service has taken a back seat. Candidates with uprightness is still available in all parties. The people shall vote according to their conscience and vote for the candidate and not for the parties.

Funny how those two words go together Political and Party the emphasis on the later I think . I think they start out with the best of intentions. The majority only seem to become a mob of self indulgent do nothings over time. Advantages big pay packet over generous superannuation.Disadvantages fighting to stay awake during Parliamentary Sessions learning how to say no comment when asked a question. Having a bad memory when asked if you actually said something.The overall purpose seems to be to get rid of the tax payers money so as not to get a surplus IE overseas trips or commissions are a good money waster.
