I'm so sick of hearing people say that the reason black girls dye thier hair, or change their hair color, eye color, or wear weave is to look white. NO! tHAT IS NOT THE CASE. black people do not try to look white when they do these things. everybody likes to change every once in a while. it would be wrong for black people to say white people get tans to look black. Black girls don't have a reason to want to look like white girls so don't even think that nonsense! if you have any problems then feel free to email me personally. How do you feel about this? can someone please explain to people and me why they think that? we do not want to look ''white''. Pleease! Black girls have more atributes that a white girl could never posess!

Black girls definetely are not trying to look white. I don't know w hy they think everyone wants to look like them. black girls like to change their image just like everyone else and we do not try to look like white people.

Yes i agree, woman of all colors, white, asian whatever have all tried to beautify themselves in some form for thousands of years and even today. And it's not just black women that get extensions, For example, some people may be jealous of a girl because her weave looks so real. That happened to me, the other girls where dying to know if it was real. Are you serious? So basically in some people's mind, black women are not suppose to have long hair. Which is not true. It's sad becuase people expect you to look a certain way, if you were to have long hair that looked so real, especailly being a black girl!!!

Answer: Racist people look for anything to label a person cause people without labels are generally feared. Racist hate people they cannot classify, it scares them and/or confuses them. Black girls come in all sizes,shapes and colors. Everyone is subject to there own opinion. You could say white women that wear cornrows want to be black but that is not always the case.

There may have been a time when that was the case but not anymore. I'm sure one or two out there are blonde to try to be "white" but most are for fashion and trends.

I think both women just want to be what society proclaims is beautiful, white girls want booty now because the videos say it's in, black girls want long hair because the magizines say it's beautiful it's all what people see on tv, and let's face it pale, flat azzes nor bald headed ugly people are in this year or any year for that matter................Peace Love & Chicken Grease!!!!!

I live in the country so I don't see this kind of stuff in person around here. So not everything thinks this way if that cheers u up a little. I dislike my own brown boring hair and love to change it to something redder.

I don't think they try to look white.
We try to look black, baking in the sun, risking skin cancer. We perm our hair to make it curly. I have seen white kids acting all black and trying to have some mannerisms they think are black.
Black people have gorgeous skin, they age well also.
Why the heck would they want to look white?

i personally think, sisters who sport their hair natural like the sisters in africa, in my opinion are more desirable. weaves to me are equivalent to hats. keep it natural and respectable, long live afro-puffs!
and let's not dump on white girls for being who they are, alot of them have definitely got it going on.
