I'm 22 and getting married to an Asian guy who went to CA for higher studies. We might live there for some years. Do you think we could raise a family there without much of a problem?

Yes, some people might stare. And yes, some people might even point. But, America is the melting pot of the world, there is NO country-wide nationality, everyone is an immigrant, some people are just more out numbered than others.
I do not think you will have much of a problem.
Somewhere down the line a jerk might say something rude, but don't let it get to your head, people can be rude like that, but that shouldn't force you to move your family.

I am Asian Indian and have lived in Texas for more than 4 years now. I have never experienced hatred towards me. Some of them make fun of my accent and behaviour but they are mostly they are my friends. It would depend a lot on how much you would Americanize too. I have a few friends here and I have learnt a lot from them. People here aren't very knowledgeable about Asians(atleast in smaller towns) and most of them don't care. When even southern states like Texas are tolerable towards Asians, i guess CA should be much better especially with so much more diversity....so i don't think you would have any problem.

California is full of Asian immigrants as well as American-born Asians. You'll feel right at home in any California city.

Before you decide on California as a place to raise a family, consider other cities that are more conservative than you'll find in Cali. Cities in midwest U.S. may be more in alignment with your values. This is a matter of debate, however.

Shouldnt be a problem, especially in California. Very high Asian population over there.

In general the only problem would be if he is from Japan and brings over the usual racists attitudes that many people in Japan have towards non-whites.

I would like to say no, but the way America is today really sucks. Gotten better I guess, plus all that's in California is like 70% Mexicans, and 50% probably can't even talk english. So it should be fine.

Good luck to you and hope things work out for the best,

Matt

human beings' adverse attitude in the direction of Mexican and Hispanic immigrants is by using the value and scale of Hispanic inflow. The explosion of Hispanic immigration and inhabitants strengthen is so super that the white Anglo human beings can experience and notice that the their nationwide and cultural id, their custom and society, and their standard language (i.e., English) are being progressively -- yet honestly -- replaced by employing Hispanics and Spanish. human beings do in comparison to while their traditions, cultures, religions, languages and identities are below threats and being supplanted by employing some foreigners and immigrants. chinese language immigrants -- including unlawful ones -- are particularly minor in length and scale. chinese language immigrants do no longer pose a raffle to the values and id of the yank human beings. human beings don't experience that their nationwide and cultural id are being threatened and replaced by employing chinese language immigrants. this is the reason human beings do no longer despise chinese language immigrants -- or the different immigrants -- as much as Mexican and Hispanic immigrant, whom human beings see as "taking on the country" and undermining their nationwide and cultural historical past.
