Unless you know she's allergic to something in the detergent, there never was any need to wash with fragrance-free stuff. Give it a go, and see if it affects her. She should be fine, if she's not naturally allergic.

There is no reason you really have to use a fragrance-free detergent...unless..there is some kind of reaction to the skin..when you use a fragrance detergent..Try washing one outfit in a fragrance detergent...put it on your baby , if there is no irritation on the baby's skin..then its safe to use..Good luck ..hope i helped

Well I actually stopped using fragrance free detergent when my daughter was 9 months. She didnt have any reactoin to it so it's kind of up to you and when you think she is ready. I would consult a doctor to see what he or she says.

If you use regular detergent just toss a few of her items in with your stuff as a test. I would say a few onsies, a shirt and a blanket and then go from there. If she doesn't show any signs of irritation then try again with another load. If she's clear after two loads I would say you're good to go.

I've always heard to wait until the baby is 6 months old before switching to an ordinary detergent and even then you are to watch for allergic reactions that your baby may have on his/her skin! Personally I have been using it since birth and will continue until my baby is 6 months old later this month. It becomes very costly..

I am planning on changing to the more allergen free detergent for the whole family. But you should probably just run a couple of her outfits in regular wash to see if she's OK with it. Some kids aren't as sensitive as others.

I use Tide Mountain Fresh or whatever...plus I use fabric softener and it doesn't bother Jaylea at all.
I started a long time ago by washing her blankets in it first, since they come in contact with her but not as much as her clothes, then after a few days of watching for a reaction I did her outer clothes but not onesies...then waited a few days and then did the rest. She has never had a problem with it.

Hi, I spoke with my pediatrician when my baby was born and he said as long as you use the same laundry soap on the babies clothes as urs ur fine from birth. We have always used Extra and our son is 10 weeks old and has never had a problem with it. My doctor did suggest not to use a softner tho till hes 1 year old because of his skin.

this is not so much a matter of age as it is a matter of tolerance to chemicals .
the less chemicals you expose your child to the better .
the earlier you start to use the other detergent the more likely it is to cause irritation. and possible sensitivity to chemicals
best thing to do is to stick to the UN scented kind and hang them out to dry .
but you for sure should not switch until the baby is walking

Just wash a blanket with regular detergent and if baby has no trouble with it then try an outfit. If no problems with them then go ahead and use regular detergent.
