I've managed to size a fantasy car tire at: 538/53R20

This size doesn't seem to exist... so what's my closest substitute, and where would I be able to find it? In theory (and appearance) a construction or Off-road tire might be closest, but I haven't found ANY sizes or size reference charts for those.

The fantasy tire has a Diameter of 42.5 - sect.width of 21.2 - Sect. height 11.2

I'll award best answer based on how useful your information is.. To me, the best answer is the most useful one, so even if you've given no actual answer, then maybe a link to construction tire sizes/size charts would be useful.

Thanks!

I understand your difficulty. The truth is you need to find a custom tire maker for you which is close to impossible unless you plan to buy a lot of your fantasy wheel.

The closest buy I think is a Dunlop SP Sports Maxx or their Groundtrek WP 3. These have a profile height of 45 and a rim of 20. Any rim size bigger than that is a hard find.

I have not checked but I think they also have tires with a height of 50 for their Grandtrek series. Try looking for ST8000, PT 9000 or SP sport 9000.

I think its worth checking Tirerack.com! try to search for tires then go look at their Dunlop line up.

Your fantasy off road tire is just that. This would have to be a hand made tire and rim which would be expensive. I was unable to find a single manufacturer that appeared to be capable or able to manufacture to your specifications. Here is a search site which list both distributors and manufacturers.
