I went to see Casino Royale yesterday and was a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to a "James Bond" film. I know it was billed being completely different to the others, but I just think that some of the things that make a great Bond film have just disappeared.

This is a prequel to the other Bond films, but I just don't believe that the brutish thug of a Bond in this film would progress to be the suave intelligent secret agent played by the likes of Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Don't get me wrong, it's a great action film that is really worth watching, and Daniel Craig is great in it, but don't go in expecting to see the usual Bond style features, because you will be disappointed.

Think of it as kind of XXX meets 007...

Yeah it was cool-had the whole jackie chan thing at the start
had no Q buts thats okay cause he's only a new 00agent john cleese will be in the next one more than likely
good bond woman
casino scenes were good
torture scene was sore *oof* that musta hurt but funny too!
nice car and crash
car chase at the airport was cool
aaaw that shower scene was sweet too.....!
daniel craig wasn't a bad bond he's well built and the chicks really dig him!
brosnan was better but after die another day(awful) they had to get rid of him
not much use of gadgets and a lot more use of fists
the monty norman theme wasn't played till half way through that kinda sucked but i thought the director(same as Goldeneye best fcuking bond ever!) didn't want to play the tune till bond was BOND because throughout the movie he was becoming bond.
I'm definetly looking forward to the new one!
So I give it 9-thumbs up got a little boring in the luvey-duvey scenes though.

I liked it!

It's equally as far fetched as usual - but that's part of the Bond charm.

This James Bond is far more "human" than the super hero character we are probably more used to.

Without giving too much of the plot line away for you in this movie we see how James gets his 00 status.

I was surprised it was classified a 12A rating. It is quite violent in places.

This may sound a bit geeky (sorry) but I thought it was interesting! There was a scene when the "Bond Girl" is a close up witness to a brutal fight. We, the viewing public, take it in our stride. We are used to watching this sort of stuff and we don't bat an eye about it. In the movie the girl reacts adversely to what she has seen and went into a form of shock. I thought she acted well and it did make me stop and think.

The torture scene will bring tears to your eyes if you are a man!! (But it is amazing how well he recovers in the following scenes)

I liked the new James Bond and I hope we see him in many more to come!

Casino Royale is a great film that stands up on its own merits and not just of being part of a long running and popular franchise. There are famililar plot elements but this new bond is real, he doesn't rely on gadgetry to help him out of situations, just the natural resources that come to hand. I really couldn't recommend you go and see this strongly enough. From Judi Dench's expanded role as M to Eva Green as Vesper, a Bond girl who is more than a match for her man, Casino Royale just about has it all.

There were good things and bad things about the film. James bond is a very brutal guy who isn't particularly suave in the film. He's also much more human and connected than other Bond's. I liked that part. It was more of a human portrayal than a male fantasy. The scene with the girl crying in the shower was my favorite because that's what reality is more like.

I really enjoyed it, it is very similar to the book and I think that brings it back to what James Bond was really meant to be about. The gadgets don't take over the film and the settings are spot on. The twist at the end it good but you might see it coming.
Hope this helps

Bond is back, and badass. Very Gritty film that shows Bond before suave and debonaire. I liked Craig--he's a bit ugly, but my wife was drooling as he walked out of the water, so I guess he's got that certain something. Fight scenes were great and I didn't really miss the over the top gadgets. The torture scene was one of the toughest things to watch, but still managed to get you to smile. It took over 90 minutes for the first Bondlike quip as well. Very good setup for the beginning of the Franchise--4 decades later.

At one point he's looking in the mirror at himself in a Tux and Vesper is checking him out and I was just waiting for him to say (toungue in cheek) Bond, James Bond. I would have laughed, but most people wouldn't have gotten it.

Yes I've seen it very good, this is a new Bond, one that will keep the Bond movies going, it was darker, but more real life than the others, I think he could be th ebest Bond yet, looking forward to the next one

I thought it was really good. I must admit I did enjoy it and was on the edge of my seat a few times. The Bond girl was your typical bond girl, in fact Daniel Craig showed more flesh than they did.

Daniel Craig also adds that little bit of sexy to Bond this time round and that body, Oh My God! ;-)

Very Goodlooking Bond, but the film whilst good, had very little action, not the best bond film by a long shot
