Due to changes in my circumstances, it is unlikely I can take my Spanish exams next year. I may not also get a refund on the £400. Is it worth the stress to even turn up?

£400 is a lot of money to just throw away, but I think your mind is more important than money so if it is going to be too stressful I suggest you drop it. No point doing all the courses then failing at the end of the year because you're too stressed out to get to exams.
You should test run the situation for a month if by then you havent learned anything , are late to the classes or behind in your other work because you hae too much on, you should drop what ever is least important to you regardless of the cost.

Spanish is the most widely spoken language in the world and learning a language is the best way to exercise the brain so it is worth the stress. What have you got to lose apart from a few hours a week, with no exams there is no stress and who knows you might actually like it ...

Of course! Learning another language will open so many doors for you, even if you don't get the qualification in the end. Spanish is spoken all over the world and really useful. Carry on with your course, you won't regret it.

What would you answer to this?

What do you prefer: Be smart
Be rich
Be handsome

I would say be smart because being smart can get you rich and handsome!

Don't give up, Spanish is the 4th most spoken language in the world. In fact, in some cities if you don't speak spanish, they won't consider to hire you, regardless of you cualifications.

I'd say, please, don't give it up, but if it's really stressing you than drop it. It seems you're not that interested anyway. If you are, you'll do it again some other time and when you'll feel better. I dropped out of university twice in my country and now that I live in UK, I'm studying IT and I'm much successful, so everything in the right time.
