IT solutions firm specializes in Networking services, product/software development, IT staffing (full time & consulting), IT outsourcing, and reller of hardware/software.

Besides making calls to businesses, explaining our services, and getting no where, does any one have any tips for a beginner in the sales department?

I started looking into becoming a third party vendor for other businesses/corporations but the company is mostly looking for local small - medium sized businesses.

I also am looking into whether I can become affiliated with a business development company, so that they can offer my services to businesses that would benefit from the cost savings that my company offers.

I hope this is detailed enough! Any help from veteran sales people, (or just someone with a good idea) would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS GUYS/GALS

You have not indicated where you operate from. Besides you are covering the entire gamut of IT services. What you need is identify one area to focus on.

I believe you are very truthful --

First rule of business - -Dont be truthful at the same time dont lie to your customers

It simply means know your weakness first and dont show it to your customer

When you start dealing with your customer
1) See his history, pedigree, his business and his clients
2) Show him that how you can make a difference to his business and how you can help him to achieve his objectives quickly
3) Start Creating hype for yourself in the market that you are in
4) Always say to your self that you can achieve what you want
5) Understand your market, Dont try to sell your services to every one, Select your customers, Get one lead and try to farm your revenues there on....

If you feel that nothing is working, Provide some free trial offers for a while -- Induce and Entice the customer in this and then you will see that the magic works...
