Barney invites his gay, black brother James (Wayne Brady) to "liven" up the gang's life as all of them have been 'coupled' off and Barney is alone. James is an exact duplicate of Barney- except gay. It is soon revealed, however, that James is going to get married to his partner Tom, something Barney does not approve of because he does not like marriage as a whole yet he finds out he will be an uncle (they are adopting), something that profoundly affects Barney.
Tonights episode is a rerun. The next new show is on December 11, 2006.

Last week Barney's brother came to visit. His brother is a gay, black guy and when they are together they play wingman to each other. None of the other gang wanted to go out because it was snowing, but when Barney's brother came to town they all went out. The gang noticed that his brother wasn't hooking up with any guys and wondered if he was in a relationship. Barney then found out that he was in a realtionship and also getting married. Barney was none too happy about that and continued to try and set him up with other guys - until his brother told him that they were also going to have a baby. The news of the baby made Barney very happy and that's how he became "Uncle Barney" - it then flashed forward a year to the wedding and Barney was bonding with the baby as his new wingman. - Not sure what's suppose to happen tonight, I don't recall seeing any previews.

Not sure what will happen next, but Barney's gay, African-American brother (Wayne Brady) came for a visit. They used to be each other's wingmen but Barney's brother surprised him by telling him he was getting married. Barney was totally bummed until he found out his brother was also adopting a baby. Barney got really excited about that. The baby was a boy and Barney planned to cruise the bars with his nephew once he grew up.
