I'm trying to find out about someone who passed a bad check and now owes me $1800. She says she moved from OR to CO recently. There is no name listed when I do a reverse address search, and many searches don't even have her address (it is on mapquest, though). Her 'old' address already has someone listed as an owner - which seem odd to me since she's saying she's in the process of moving. I have a cell phone number (which won't accept unidentified calls) and another cell phone number she gave me which is out of IN (go figure). When I look up real estate records the house she supposedly just bought is not listed as 'sold in the past 18 months' - perhaps it's too soon? I have a copy of her OR license and her license plate number. What should I do????????

Turn it over to your local District Attorney. They have check fraud divisions that just love to go after these dead-beats. They also have more legal resources to locate the person. Turn over all info you have & good luck.

This is a civil matter and you will have to take that person to court. Luckily you take your case to court in the county the offense was committed. They will find her. Or you could find out what county that person resides in and contact Clerk of Courts. Alot of thier information is Public Record. You may have to pay a small fee but it may be worth it.

i can't help you, but i'm glad you posted this question----because i have also been taken advantage of by an unscrupulous contractor.....he owes my 17,000.00 dollars. he lived in missouri and now lives on arizona. i have gone to the church where he was good friends with many people there ,but, no one knows how to contact him...i've e-mailed him but no luck....he won't give my his phone number or address---but he has mine and has called a few times to tell me he will make payments---hahaha.
i have no choice but to file with the attorney general of the state of missouri.....his family and mine were good friends before this all started.....my first husband died with cancer and bill was going to fix up the house so i could sell it. but he left town.....later come to find out his truck was repossessed and his house was lost to foreclosure. he still goes to church every sunday somewhere in sun city arizona or close by. i wish you good luck in your recovery with this person. when it comes to money you can't trust anyone.....we all live and learn.....you best bet is to go to the attorney general in your state, they will send you forms to fill out be sure to have a paper trail and copies of your supporting evidence. they will find her---it might take some time but she needs to be caught and brought to justice. these people should go to jail....i will be monitoring your question for new answers that could be helpful----thanks for asking!!!
