Assume you have the same fountain, a circular fountain is surrounded by a circular walkway 42 inches wide. The diameter of the fountain is 18 foot and the water is 3.5 feet deep. How many gallons of water can the fountain hold if you shut the fountain off and just fill the fountain area?

22/7 x 9 x 9 x 3.5

891 cubic feet

Idon't know the conversion units of cubic feet to gallons.

I assume that the fountain is 3.5 feet deep.
Volume = (pi*d^2/4)*3.5 = 254.34 ft^3
Since 1 cubic fot of water = 7.48 gallons.
then the number of gallons is 7.48(254.34=1,902.46 gallons
