Several years ago Michael J Fox left Spin City. And on the final episode he is heading to a apointment at the white house.. he's gonna be a eviromental lobyest.

Well he makes a comment about a stiff Junior Senator... named ALex P. Keaton...

thats his charector name from "Family Ties" the other show he was famous for.

Another very good tie in was the last episode of "Newhart".
He woke up from a dream in the old bedroom with his wife from the previous "Bob Newhart Show".

One I know of is from "Two of a Kind" which starred Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. There was a scene in which they were playing poker and when one of them (the twins) didn't win the hand with a full house, one of them states, "when we were little, full house beat everything." They were the twins that starred as Michelle Tanner for many years in "Full House."

It happens more than you think. Its done as kind of like a "wink" to fans of a particular star or if a star came from a HUGELY popular show, a small reference will be made to another show. It happens all the time.

There have been several, many related to the old show "St. Elsewhere". There's an interesting page with several crossover links at http://www.poobala.com/homicideandelsewhere.html
