As for me, I think this song is talking about a guy, who can't get over his past relationship with this other girl, but after he was seperated from his last gf, he had already gotten with someone else. The memories of his past gf haunt him, as he still has feelings for her even though he knows that his gf is right around the corner he still is trying to reach out to his ex and tell her he still has feelings for her.
IDK if I picked up on the song right, but thats what I think it means. Either that, or he has feelings for some random girl outside of his relationship with his gf.

I read an interview with Austin Winkler, the lead singer for Hinder. He said he wrote the song about his x girlfriend phoning him when his current girlfriend was in the next room. I think it's become so popular because most of us have someone in our past that we never quite got over or will always hold a place in our heart for them. this guy is still in love with his ex..and even though there is a new woman in his life he still talks to his old flame and keeps it from his current girlfriend. I love that song..everyone I know does too when it comes on the radio on the bus everybody shuts up and listens

well I think its pretty clear cut. This guy who has a girlfriend is talking to an ex and he's basically saying that when he talks to the ex on the phone (in places that his current gf cannot hear) he wishes he could be with her and how they never really got over each other. And he's tempted to be unfaithful.
