Wikipedia has an ok article, and www.marvel.com has the opening shot comic book available to read online. Maybe some more issues too.

Don't bother. It's just a bunch of thinly-disguised political hype, copied off the headlines of yesterdays newspapers, with no originality and what's more, it's insulting to us, the readers, when we want entertainment and the writers think they can politically indoctrinate us with their beliefs.
