Grand theft auto san adreas for pc runs slow?

when playing the game its really slow but the menus are fine. so i can't really play it since its slow. i have winxp home. what wrong?

probably slow internet connection, get wireless internet or DSL

change some of the settings of the game, make the resolution a bit smaller for a pretty big improvement,or lower the detail and far/near level

its slow because of hi graphics.normaly gta i slow.hey!!!!! wait a minute get a new 3D accelattor.
