It is possible to get a "false negative" if you don't do the test just right - however, as you say that you've had late periods like this before, it may well just be your irregular cycle. Why not speak to your GP? S/he can arrange for a more sensitive hospital lab test and if you're concerned about erratic periods you could be referred to the gynaecologist to check everything's OK.

You should take the tests about 2 weeks after being late. If you have not had intercourse etc then you wont be. They are pretty accurate so it is probably right is saying your not. Being late or having sore breasts could be to a number of things such as stress, medication, not sleeping etc. If you are worried go to your doctor and explain every thing to him/her.

Good luck

A friends mom told me once when I was late and thought that I might be pregnant, that stress plays a part with your period. For example, if you are worrying or stressing about what will happen if you are pregnant, then that can delay your period that much longer, bc of all the stress. So, my suggestion would be that you try to relax and keep your mind on other things, and do your best to not stress or worry about being pregnant! Just let nature take its course! Good Luck!

Try not to worry too much. It could be stress or just your body changing. Go and see the doctor and explain the situation. he can do a pregnancy test that is far more accurate than a home one. If you are not pregnant the doctor may be able to explain why you are feeling the way you are. Good luck!!

the pregnancy tests are not 100% sure. a pregnancy can be detected by a pregnancy test after 3 weeks. but also stress can be an important factor in missing your period. to be more sure, go to a doctor and get a real test. than you will be sure of the result. god be with u

A pregnancy test can give false results at times, you should go to the doctors and let them take a test to know for sure. But i suspect because you are worrying so much the stress is making you late.Try to relax or like I said if your really concerned go see your doctor.

Sounds like your hormones are off. Pregnancy tests arent always accurate. I was pregnant for three months and the tests kept saying I wasnt. Even the really expensive ones. Every womans body is different. Id go get some blood work done. You may need your hormones adjusted.

yes but it's unlikely if u have done more than a few...but ur body can get its' period later due to stress and worry...

anyway if u are old enough to be having intercourse u should be old enough to know how to practice safe sex so that u won't get pregnant... i hope u did, not only pregnancy but lots of other std's and hiv, hepatitis etc...the list goes on..
be careful and stop worrying, if u still don't have them after another month go to your family planniing centre and have a blood test done..that's 100% certain...

pregnancy tests are pretty accurate so i don't think you are. stress can definantly cause your period to be late. perhaps you are stressed over your delayed menstruation? sometitmes your mind will even play tricks with you and allow you to have the "symptoms" of pregnancy. try not to stress it and give it another week or so. if your period still doesn't come, consult your doctor.
