My child is getting an Ipod for Christmas this year, she is 10 years old.
I have downloaded ( bought ) alot of the song I know she likes.
Examples:
Hillary Duff, Miley Cyrus, some Mariah Carey, and some Kelly Clarkson.
I am very mindful of lyric content and meaning. What are some other popular young girl songs, that I can get , even if she may not have heard of them would be ok- she is totally open to any music at all.

I would look into songs in the Disney genre. At the elementary school in which I taught last year, EVERY CHILD loved the soundtrack to "High School Musical" so I would definitely see if you can find that. Also, Raven Symone's songs are popular among young girls. Hope this helps - your daughter will love the gift! :o)

You could try a few more of the Disney singers like - Vanessa Hudgens-she has a beautiful voice. Songs from the movie High School Musical, Aly and Aj and the Cheetah Girls too. They are all very popular and clean.

You could get the High School Musical soundtrack, Cheetah Girls 1 & 2 soundtracks. High School Musical, and The Cheetah GIrls movies are from Disney, and Aly & AJ are played on Radio Disney a lot.

try barlowgirl, zoegirl, aly and aj (definitley this one), everlife, krystal meyers, and superchick. u don't have to worry about any of the lyrics to these guys.
