There is several blocks and nothing you can do to increase your traffic.

First off and most obvious... Your ISP that your place uses gives X amount of bandwidth. It can be upgraded by your institution but they won't as there is no justification of the cost of doing this.

Secondly, you mention proxy... Many places use proxy to limit and monitor traffic in addition to blocking traffic. Nothing you can do especially if that is there throttle per connection.

Thirdly, if your fellow surfers stop surfing, then your bandwidth will increase as they no longer are using up what you want to use.

Summary, unless you are at home and can afford to upgrade your connection, there is nothing at all you can do.

the best way to do this is to set the computer to use a greater amount of memory, if this does not work you may consider an upgrade, but i would,nt advise you to steal anything, this is a good way to get a bug on your system.

Go to a forum that tweaks your connection. 2 such sites are.....

http://www.dslreports.com/forums/all . Create a account and look around your particular ISP forum.

http://www.testmy.net/ . Again create a account and look around or ask your question.
