There is a light that comes on just like my other lights (gas light, car door open) but I have no idea what it means. It's a circle with some dashes on either side of the circle. Can someone please tell me what that is... Thanks!

If it is anything like the older VW's, It is telling you to check your brakes and brake fluid.

Yes, it means you have a bulb out on the exterior of the vehicle. At least that is what it sounds like as this same thing happened when my jetta tail light was out. To see if this is the correct answer, have a friend stand behind your car to see if you have a brake light out, check all lights anyways.

Look in the owner's manual. If it's a diesel it could mean water in the fuel filter.
