As a primary school teacher and a mom of a six-year-old, I'm a big fan of http://www.firstschoolyears.com Click Literacy for reading activities (the phonics stuff is great) or Numeracy for math activities. Easy to use and the pages print perfectly. It's good for quick practice on specific skills.

If you go to Wal-Mart or a store of that nature they have work books that are for preschool age thru 4th grade that have basic math and spelling. They will be near the school supplies. They also include stickers for a page completed or a job well done. Also something I did with my kids when they were young was bought a computer program called Reader Rabbit. It is excellent and now both of my kids are in the Gifted Program at school. Teaching kids early is a great way to prepare them for school.
If you need free material I know of some math sites...http://mathforum.org/dr.math/ www.aaamath.com/ and www.coolmath.com Good luck!

Hello,
There are numerous documented benefits and advantages of teaching children to read early on, and teaching them to reading using phonics and phonemic awareness instructions. It is clear that early language and reading ability development passes great benefits to the child as they progress through school at all grades, and that early language and reading problems can lead to learning problems later on in school.
