MY Christmas tradition would be pulling the family out of bed for a church service out at a little white church that has no electricity and is run by a coal/wood burning stove and still has a candle lite tree... IT Rocks. Freeze your but off for God. :)

First, we always go driving to look at Christmas lights. Of course, shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Each member of the family picking a name from an 'Angel Tree' or similar charity and buying gifts. Watching a Christmas movie every night during December. "It's a Wonderful Life" is always the very first movie. Oh yeah! While opening presents, none of that putting away all of the paper and bows in a neat trash bag as you go. Oh no... Everyone throws the paper and ribbons about until the very last gift is opened. I have a photo every year of the huge mess around the tree after all of the gifts have been opened.

A unique Christmas tradition in my family is gag gifts. We have come up with some doozies. For example, a family friend was in a band so we spray-painted a 45 record with gold paint. We used a permanent marker to write "Cry Me a River". This was his "hit single" that went gold on the charts. Some are a bit naughty. I bought a literal nutcracker with a note to my cousin to use it when her boyfriend got out of hand. We even make gags for the little ones. This has remained a favorite part of our rather strange family's Christmas traditions, even for the kids.
