The Goliath beetles are the largest insects on Earth, if measured in terms of bulk and weight. Adult beetles can way from 80 - 100 grams.

Until further relevant data is available, five beetle species are likely co-title holders for Largest Insect. Beetles were selected due to their obvious density and greater measureable bulk. Though a gravid specimen of the cricket-like giant weta, Deinacrida heteracantha, of New Zealand had a reported weight of 71 grams (Moffett 1991), weight data is lacking for nearly all of the beetles and extreme measurements of Deinacrida indicate it is smaller in bulk. Obviously, a maximum Titanus is compelling in comparison of top views, but there is yet no evidence that one of 16.7 cm has a measureably greater volume than the giant scarabs

The other answers have it right. The heaviest
adult beetle is just under a quarter of a pound.
Crazy car has two errors in his answer. The
juvenile of the beetle is a larva, larvae is plural, and
a single kind of organism is a species, not a
specie. Species is both singular and plural, the
word specie means money in the form of coins.
