Has anyone ever noticed that they use the same actors in the Law & Order franchise? For instance, in a L&O episode Judd Hirsch was the lawyer, then in Criminal Intent, he was the boss of the bad guy. I watch all three series, and often notice the same people.

Anyone have another example?

Annie Parisse, assistant to "McCoy" before Alana de la Garza, played an exotic dancer in a previous season! That's the funniest, and the worst.

I guess it's less of a gamble (and convenient?) to cast these actors on file than to audition fresh faces. I like it better when they use old characters whose stories have continued, like "Paul Robinette", former assistant to McCoy who became a defense lawyer. It adds to the realism of the L&O world. I also like "Dr. Rogers" the M.E. for the L&O franchise, as well as "Dr. Olivet".

The shrink is my favorite character they use in all the shows. He's on SVU mostly but I've seen him on the regular first ever law and order show a few times.

I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, but they def rotate actors/actresses. I have seen the same ones in different series.
