Some women do lose weight due to morning sickness, thyroid problems and some other things. It is NEVER safe to try to lose weight though. Yes, you should exercise, but you do realize every calorie you burn during exercise...you have to make it up again. Prenancy is never a time to try to lose weight, even if you are over weight. Exercising and eating healthy will keep your body in shape and even your doctor will tell you, there is not need to gain more than 25 pounds, UNLESS you started off under average weight. I gained 6 lbs and had a healthy 8 lbs and 14 ouce girl. But I am overweight also, so I ate ONLY what was recommended and cut every bad fat and all junk food. Good luck though!

If you are exercising make sure you are not lifting anything over 10 pounds. Try doing yoga or swimming or just walking. I would try to stay at a healthy weight because if you are small then the baby will be small. My mom gained 15 pounds with me and I was 5 pounds 14 ounces and that was 1 day late. I was healthy but that isn't a good weight for a baby that is late. I gained 26 pounds with my daughter and she weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces. Ask your doctor what weight is best for you and what you can do to not become overweight. Good luck!

Probably ur not supposed to lose weight, unless ur overwieght to start off with. depends of baby's growth is normal.
if u exercised before pg then it should be ok to continue, but obviously dont over exert urself.
if u didnt exercise before pg, then probably walking is better. work up from a few minutes to 30 minutes a day.
also there are some exercise classes designed specifically for pregnant ladies. the one i attend is called Preggi Bellies - im not sure in which countries still is available, but im sure u have a program locally. most of the aerobic type exercises are performed on an exercise ball, followed by weight and strength training.

I would say that if you were over weight before you got pregnant, that weight loss through healthy eating and exercise would not be a bad thing. Talk to your doc about it.
Some people lose weight in the beginning just from being so sick.

I totally understand.Being preg is a great excuse to gain but if you are already overweight i can see exactly why you would want to lose rather than gain more and have more to lose later. I would try weight watchers on my own if i were you. That way your getting a healthy non starvation diet with all your friuts, vegatables and the good stuff too.

You should not do any strenuous exercises while pregnant. Walking is best. They do have pregnancy workout DVDs but you should consult with your OB/GYN first. I lost some weight when I first found out I was pregnant just by walking and cutting out all junk and processed foods.
