dont use calcium chloride works fantastic but leaves a white residue and can pit concreate and pavement regular icemelt works fine but remember some people throw a bunch down you dont need to do that it is actually the melted water that helps melt it like a brine solution

If your garden hose is not frozen just hose the area down. It works great but you may want to sprinkle a little salt afterward to keep it from refreezing.

But if you have a garden around your driveway...be careful that the salt don't run it it...or it will kill your plants.
Also...don't get salt on your car...or it will rust.
