If the sentence was authorized to be imposed by the Philippine courts, then the Marine got what he deserved. And I say this having served in the US Army for 28 years. One of the first things engrained in military personal entering an overseas base is the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) we (the USA) have with every foreign government where a US base is established. The Marine 'should have known' that crimes he committed on Philippine soil could be tried in a Philippine court of law. Even if that punishment were death, I would still uphold the Philippine authority to impose and carry out the sentence.

this is particularly unhappy and disgusting how the form of crime is going unpunished,if the driving force had owed funds to a pair government branch he could have been jailed, yet for taking the existence of a 4 year previous he walks loose...the regulation of the land needs to alter faster fairly than later there are too lots of those scum bags getting away with homicide...you will desire to contemplate whether it have been a politicians son that he killed might the effect have been the comparable

Being a female, I find it impossible to sympathize with any man who rapes... Historically, wartime and armies have always been associated with this crime... I'm glad some are being held accountable for their actions.
