There is always something else that makes the difference.. Not hard work.. not money.. not anything. Some call that chance, others God's hand.. and most people call it luck.
Let's face it... timing is everything. I may want something.. but when i will get that or how is a question of luck. Maybe I want a well payed job.. but if i get that when i want it and to be a suitable job for me and other criteria that i have in mind.. it' a question of luck. This is of course only an example.. u may find others that suit u most.
I prefer to call it God's doing...and yes.. I believe it exists..but there is a saying that I also believe in : " God gives u, but He doesn't put in your bag".

Luck is just another word for describing an outcome of an event that has a low probability of occuring.
Take cards as an example, your opponent needs one card from 42 that are left in the deck to beat your hand and he hits it. The probability was 42 to1...you'd say he got 'lucky'.
So I don't exactly believe in luck as its own magical force but I do believe luck exists to describe an event.

I used to believe luck just came to some people. Now I have a few people in my life who are considered to be truly lucky, and I've noticed something. It seems like lucky people are also people who are not afraid to take a risk. So maybe there's something to the idea that people build their own luck.

Both. I found a buried cache of gold. Done some research on an area, followed the hints and found an old military base where it was buried.
Luck because I noticed something "ODD" and done research to find more about it, the location and history of the location from 1942 until 1945. Made mine because I had the drive to see what was at the other end.

I believe luck is completely random; however, some people have a certain knack for being in the right place at the right time more often than more people. And vice versa for the person who seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As luck is random, it is hard to prove or disprove.

i believe its a bit of both sometimes you need to be in the right place at the right time, but if you work at something long enough than you will create a better chance of having better luck. i know people who claimed both sides of this argument. You only have to look at recent news to see examples.

Yes, but I also feel you need to work hard. Luck can only take you so far, like always getting enough money to meet all your expenses in a month, when on paper it looked impossible.
