I don't think he's the worst, but he's not the QB you want on a team that's supposed to be the favorite in the NFC playoffs. On a team like the Bears, you don't need a guy who can win games at the QB position, but you do need a guy who won't lose them. The Ravens were in a similar position to Chicago several years ago, with a great defense and good running game. They had Dilfer at QB, a guy who wasn't a big gunner but who also didn't make mistakes. The problem with Grossman is that he tries to play beyond his ability and makes too many mistakes.
If Grossman isn't reined in by the coaching staff, I'm predicting another ugly playoff experience for the Bears and their fans. They've got the potential to go far, but I can see Grossman sabotaging that effort.

He sucks. He will never win a Superbowl. People say Defense wins titles...well you need an offense to at leats help give your defense a break and time on the bench.
Grossman will be a backup QB within 2 years. He does not have the mechanics for the NFL. Sorry all you Bear and Gator fans.

He's not the worst as far as talent goes, but he could be making the worst decisions at QB in the league.
I am a Bears fan and I can see his potential, but even so, I wouldn't mind seeing Griese get some reps before the season is over. Granted, Rex has a 10-2 record, but is making a lot of the mistakes that you expect a young inexperienced quarterback to make. That will not fair well for the Bears in the playoffs. There are still some good teams in the NFC that will eat that offense up, and I am not ready for next year yet.

rex grossman is not the worst qb in the nfl because he lead the bears to a 10-2 record despite some terrible games. the players around him on offense also did their part at times for not being aggressive enough down the stretch. i think the worst qb in the nfl right now is big ben rothlisberger. after winning the super bowl, he got into a motorcycle accident and he has blown pittsburghs season. 20 int's for a defending super bowl champion qb is inexcuseable

Before yesterday, Grossman was better than Eli Manning, Vick, Leinart, and Roethlisberger as well as others, by passer rating at NFL.com.
Today he is better that only these four:
Joey Harrington
Brad Johnson
Jake Plummer
Drew Bledsoe
Chicago sports radio suggests that something political is going on around the Bears QB spot, their explanation for why Rex is still the starter.

anybody who posts a rating of 1.3 in a game & only goes 6 of 19 for 34 yards has to be the worst quarterback. with that being said, Rex Grossman is terrible. He is holding his team back (just like Jake Plummer & Drew Bledsoe) because they have to find other ways to score touchdowns without him.

I don't know if I would say he's the worst, but he's definately one of the worst. I think the Bears are pretenders. They won't go very far in the playoffs because I can't recall many superbowl teams that didn't have all-star qb's. In the NFC I think it will be Seattle that walks into the superbowl fairly easily or maybe Carolina. Dallas is good, but I think Romo is too inexperienced to get there.

He's right now the worst on any NFL team with a winning record, yes. But there are many mediocre QB's on lower-tiered teams right now like Oakland, Detroit, and San Francisco.

the ravens rely more on defense, they might be in second place right now, and the only reason the chicago bears are in first is because they play only shitty teams, and baltimore has benn able to play good defense against good teams, when the bears played the pats, the pats had like 400 offensive yards, please tell me if thet is defense????? rex grossman does suck, but he is no excuse

No I think Bledsoe is the worst QB in the league today. Remember this is Grossman's first full season really. So he is doing good and will be better next year.
