I'm trapped somewhere I don't want to be but is a necessary part of getting to where I do. I'm dying slowly and I really need suggestions to escape from reality. No drugs involved please. Help!

Unfortunately, it's not an issue which can be resolved verbally (lots of bureaucracies involved). And if I don't put in effort now, things will become even worse. So the dying bit is really a non-issue. It's more of a How To Escape problem...

Decondition your mind by self suggestion that you are in an illusive world. You must strive towards light from the depth of darkness. Do not try to run away from reality, otherwise you will be compelled to swallow the bitter pill called reality. Compromise with reality, that will be wiser.

the best escape is talking about the issue. the only way you can resolve some issues is by talking to someone, maybe in authority or at least someone who understands or has experienced the same situation(s). by talking to someone else, you can find the help you need, as well as comfort. and most importantly, you should talk to someone just because some things just cannot be dealt with alone.

If booze and drugs are not an option, I suggest four things, listed here in order of effectiveness:

Video games
Internet
TV
Daydreaming

A powerful combination of all of the above will allow you to ignore the reality for a long time.
Good luck!

I think I just read this in "The Devil Wears Prada". There's nothing worth obtaining in the future that you must die for slowly now. You don't need to escape from reality, you need to face it head on.
